The operational dynamics of this service are similar to other such data based services.
The information provided by the content providers - agencies collating the results on an all-India basis - is stored on the central server, access to which is provided by the unique SMS number provided by the operators.
What with the general rush for the results, the service has become an effective tool to drive home the advantages of mobile connectivity. Said Mukul Khanna of Spice, "We are in the process of tying up with a content provider for this purpose. Students appearing for their class X and XII CBSE examinations will be able to access the results by sending in a simple SMS message."
Khanna said that the users will be able to access the results subject wise. Airtel, too, will be providing the service to their subscribers across the country.
Airtel officials said that the effort will be co-ordinated by the company''s New Delhi office. Last year, the company had sourced the content from Delhi based cellnext. com.
Owing to its ease of usage, the mobile phone has come to be seen as one of the major tools to gain access to the CBSE results. The ‘results on your mobile'' service was a big hit with the users last year.

The success of the service can be gauged from the fact out of a total of 70,751 students who took the CBSE class X exams in the region last year, over 40,000 used the mobile phone to find out their results.
The CBSE Chandigarh office caters to Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Chandigarh.
Spice had reported a total of 25,000 hits for the SMS based service. Similarly, Airtel''s central server in New Delhi had reported a total of 1,20,000 hits in just half a day from the states of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh (West).
